Reasons Why Winter is Awesome.

I read (half-read) this article earlier today and it kinda made me mad. So sorry Clay, I'll take your 5 and raise you 25. Because winter may be cold, but that's about the end of your argument. Anyone who hates winter can be a Grinch if they want to, but winter really is what you make of it. I have had struggles in the past with not loving the season, but God gives us every season (literally and figuratively.) So we can either suffer through it or enjoy it... OR MOVE! I'm making it my personal goal to enjoy it.
Here's that other list: http://ibclay123.tumblr.com/post/66708257013/my-top-5-reasons-for-hating-winter-in-wisconsin

Here are my 25 reasons why WINTER IN WISCONSIN IS AWESOME.

1. Snow can be freaking beautiful sometimes. There's nothing like marveling at the purity of freshly fallen snow.

2. The Miracle of a Snowflake

3. Getting cozy with blankets is no longer a sign of laziness. You don't have to feel unproductive or anti-social if you decide to stay in bed for an entire day. It's likely your friends are doing the same thing. Plus, if you're a student, this is what your winter break is for.

4. Cuddling

5. Fireplaces are a thing from dreams. If you don't have one, befriend someone who does. You will never feel more contented in your entire life than sitting inside next to a fire during a snow storm.

6. Winter activities are basically for all ages, all fitness levels.
Ice skating is just one festive winter activity to enjoy with friends.

7. That walk during the first snow fall of the year. Make it a tradition. Make it a romance, even.

8. Making snow men. And this snow man in particular, is really awesome.

9. HOT CHOCOLATE.... And just hot drinks in general.
Weren't we just talking about contentment? Yep.

10.  Cozy and cute winter accessories are a must. You can never have too many if you live in Wisconsin.

11. About those winter activities...
Just go sledding. That's all I ask of you.
If you don't have fun, then I will work on getting you a new heart for Christmas.

12. SNOW DAYS! Never will you be more excited about snow. Ever.

Snow will actually look pretty inviting.

13. Sneakily catching grandpas taking cat naps. So precious.

14. Talk about an excuse to do crafts. There's no way I'm buying all those presents.

15. The lights!!!!!! One of my favorite past times during the winter months is to drive or walk around and look at al the lights.

16. Family fun time! Here's a really old pic of my cousins, my brother, and I:

17. CHRISTMAS! duh. Why do I even have to be making this list?

18. We celebrate our Lord and Savior literally coming down to this broken and fallen earth.. in human form.. a baby at that! That is awesome.

19. Every house becomes a home.

20. Family Traditions.
My cousins and I would always search for these elf ornaments that my Grandma hides in the Christmas tree.

21. New presents are pretty cool, too. Here's me as a lil' nugget.

22. Pigging out on yummy comfort food.

23. Can we just all admit we love cheesy Christmas movies?

24. Holiday parties! The one time a year it is okay to have a themed party as an adult.

25.  Winter can be pretty garsh darn romantic.

I'm pretty sure this is what God wants us to be doing when he makes it snow:
Matthew 18: 4 Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.

There's sweet tarts on my tape, tootsie rolls in space; I'm a daydreaming narcoleptic. These lollipops are homesick. My cotton candy hair has no breeze of relief. We're all a dying breed. Throw some shit around with me in the biting wind. We've all got so much of it. Hum rhymes while zombies drift underneath shrouds of an ever-growing crescendo of hulking clouds. Clouds take a dip down to mix in with a meringue that stirring itself in a windowless kitchen, right next to an awkwardly placed bathroom, where clarinet players like to practice the trumpet.

Cupcakes & Sweet Tangerines

I remember reading a book about kangaroos when I was a child. It inspired me to reach new heights in hopping. Sometimes as an infant I would fly. No one believes me now because they weren't around to witness it. But it's true. I had a peculiar fascination with non-reality, just as a child would. And it sounds strange to you all, but everything smelled like cupcakes in those days, cupcakes and sweet tangerines.
